Adoption of Interim Bankruptcy Rules (effective 2/19/20)

Tuesday, February 18, 2020

On August 23, 2019, the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 (SBRA) was enacted into law.  It becomes effective on February 19, 2020.  SBRA makes substantive and procedural changes to the Bankruptcy Code and requires changes to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure to implement those changes.  Interim Bankruptcy Rules have been drafted and approved for implementing SBRA, and this Court has adopted those rules in their entirety.  The Interim Bankruptcy Rules can be found at Interim Bankruptcy Rules.

With reference to this Court's Local Rules, the following rules have been revised to accommodate SBRA:  (a) LR 2015-2, (b) LR 3010-1, (c) LR 3017-2, and (d) LR 3022-1.
