Mandatory electronic filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia became effective October 1, 2005.

To file electronically with our court you must:

1. Be admitted to practice in the U. S. Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Virginia (How to be admitted) or appear on a pro hac vice basis. Refer to Local Rule 2090-1.
2. Attend CM/ECF training, have attended CM/ECF (any bankruptcy court in the country), or currently file electronically in the Eastern District of Virginia Bankruptcy Court. For additional information for training requirements, see ECF training information.
3. Submit a completed CM/ECF Participant Registration Form.
4. Please note that Limited Participants are not required to attend training.
